Seeing as Neil Gaiman told my friend tarte about this during his lecture, I figured I should post a couple of photos from my staggeringly cool trip to see the Machine de I’iles Nante.
I also have lots of short crappy little movies detailing the way the individual carousel rides move if anyone is interested. They’re very mobile and some can carry up to 9 people, all doing things like moving fins and eyes and flaps and tentacles and making the whole creature come alive.
My favorite was the Calamar à Rétropropulsion. Just look at that thing.
