This week’s It’s Okay To Be Smart video was all about déjà vu! You should watch it all over again.
A YouTube commenter asked if blind people experience déjà vu, which is a great question since one of the theories behind déjà vu says it might be caused by the brain’s visual processing centers getting out of sync with our short-term memory.
That visual timing isn’t my favorite explanation of déjà vu (for reasons that Tommy’s video, above, will make clear), but considering that scientists haven’t figured all this out yet, the common effect that we call déjà vu could have more than one cause.
In other news, Tommy’s YouTube channel, where he answers the most common questions about what it’s like to be blind, is amazing. He crushes the stigma that many hold about being without sight and is just such a happy person that you can’t help but smile while watching his videos.
