Amazing Banana Sculptures
Self-taught Japanese artist, Keisuke Yamada, takes plain bananas and turns them into edible works of art. Using only a spoon and some toothpicks, he works against the clock as he must finish the sculpture before it begins to turn brown.
His first banana art was a simple smiling face, but he received such praise that he decided to start carving more bananas. Yamada created an entire series of banana sculptures that went viral on the Japanese art site Pixiv. When interviewed by some of the largest websites in the world, Yamada stated that he works as an electrician by day and completes his banana carving at night. Once he finishes a sculpture, he takes a quick photo and then eats it.
